Mount Tasman - 3497 metres
by neil dolman
Mount Tasman, at 3497 metres, is the second highest peak in New Zealand. It is one of the most striking ice summits in the world and presents a challenge to all mountaineers.
We were fortunate to be able to organise a helicopter ride from Fox Glacier which made it possible to take this photo.
An hour later it was raining and it would have been impossible to fly!
